    Robin Head Dilemma

So, awhile back I got a Robin taken off a damaged '79 card. Absolutely mint! Only problem is, he has a bad case of zombie head.

Now recently, I found another Robin in a lot of toys I bought from some guy. Near perfect, except for a small bit of paint wear to the hair.

What is better? A perfect zombie head or a near-mint head?

Would using the plasti dip technique to restore the color on the zombie head robin be acceptable rather than changing it out?

Don't know. Anyway, I looked at the zombie head and it's not as mint as I thought. There is some faint wear and also some odd purple/blue in the black of the hair and a little on the ear. It looks as if it was an attempted touch up.

Eh, if the other one is in better shape I'd swap it out then. That's just my opinion though and I don't know if it would change the value or not OR if you even care about that.

Or instead of the messy plasti dip technique try tanning the head up. I have tanned TZ figures Black and White "grey" heads to normal so this method should work on Zombie heads as well.

I would switch the heads, I hate the zombie look.

^ I agree. Besides, the greasy exudate of the vinyl on the zombie heads sometimes causes the paint to flake off.

mint robin heads are that hard to find ... sure you have to watch out for those rubs on the spit curls ... I'd swap the gray one for the near mint one .... and nothing says you can't swap it again later if and when you find one even more mint ... keep away from messing with the nature of the heads ... might look good for a short time ... but who knows what happenes in the long run.

OK. Robin is officially getting a head transplant.
