How Rare Are The First 4 WGSH?

More specifically, how much can you expect to pay to pick up the first four heroes in their original solid boxes? Or are they so uncommon that its really hard to put a solid price on them? I've put some money aside for one, put I have no idea if I'm even close.

Robin is the toughest, and difficult to find of the four, and Aquaman seems to be the easiest. I'd say Bats (RC) is tough and expensive, and Superman seems to show up less often than Aquaman. Solid boxed figs are pretty tough especially minty.

I've heard that seems to be the order. Anyone have any idea what they go for?

That's a great question. But like anything, the price is going to vary according to box and figure condition. I wouldn't even try to guess at the value if both box and figure were actually off-the-shelf mint. I've seen a damaged box by itself go for $35.00. So for people who piece this stuff together, I don't know that you would get a huge return on your investment unless both pieces were in pristine shape (and the figure free of any repro parts). A true mint piece that has not been parted together is very rare.

It all depends upon what you are willing to pay. If you are patient you can find some good deals.

SB Superman has versions with and without the cape sticker.

Those with both stickers are probably the hardest of all to find,
with a production run that was much briefer than the RM Robins.

I remember Mark Huckabone telling a story of being beat out to a case of solid boxed heroes by Chris Longo? And I believe he eventually sold them all. The last two he had were Batman and Robin and was asking $5000 for the pair. I believe he ended up getting much more than that ( but thats another story).

My understanding is aquaman is the rarest at only 2 per case...robin was packed 4 per case and I believe superman was 8 and batman 10...

I have 2 superman solid box figures right now..one with the front and back cape sticker, one with just the large front emblem... I have only one batman, and one aquaman... robin is the one that eludes me, though I know more folks that have a robin than aquaman...

just my 2c, so sell me your Robin!...paying $5000+ for a MIB example

I believe I bought Ben's solid box batman a few years ago, so not sure if he had any others, I don't think so ?
