Price Check - Long John Silver T1 w/ -Left- peg leg

I'm still searching for a T2 LJS body (that doesn't come to $90 after shipping) but I ended up snagging a T1 with the peg leg on the T2 side...

I recall that the catalog and mego press pics had the T1 figure oriented this way, and it makes a lot of sense because the original sculpt is created to fit on a left leg ... the righties don't allow the leg to fully straighten out).

Anyway I hadn't seen this before - and it's pretty obviously legit...
How often do the left peg-leg T1 figs turn up? Was there a specific time frame for a production change, etc?>

I did... I emailed the seller a few times and felt comfortable that it was vintage and not ctvt but I was looking at it for the sword, really.
I didn't even notice/think about how much better the leg works on that side until it came in. I did think maybe it was restrung backwards from multiple bodies or something, but nope. The leg is legit.

It HAS been restrung though - which is weird... the elastic was looped leg to opposite arm on both sides, as if someone was reproducing a T2 assembly.
