Did Mego release the 'removable cowl' Batman (in that initial 'solid box' series) in a stirrup suit with sewn on sleeves?
I know Superman's suit had them in that wave, as well as Aquaman's, but I can find no evidence of Batman ever having a 'sos' suit version, especially in that 'premiere' release.
That really seems odd to me, somehow. I mean, both Batman and Superman had the 'stirrup' suits and the 'skinny' boots, but every reference or image that I have found only shows Batman's suit with the sleeves as a solid part of that top piece and not as seperate, attached, items.
Now, just so you know, I tried my to do 'homework' first before starting this thread:
I just spent a couple of hours combing through the 'Mego Fact' board to see if anyone had posted anything about this and found nothing about it (it seems everyone elses' suits with their 'sewn on sleeves' were discussed except Batman's.)
I found nothing mentioned about this in the 'Batman' gallery here at the museum, nor have I ever run across any offerings in the market place.
So, if I missed this, my sincerest apologies, but I did try.
Finally, in all of my ebay searches and item watchings, not one 'sos' suit for Batman has ever turned up, even in those 'minty-unopened-box-high-priced' auctions or as a 'single-rare-over-priced' listings, so I'm starting to have my doubts.
Maybe it was never made this way?
