    Did Mego use Clark Kent AE head on Superman?

    Hi Everyone,

    I had purchased a Clark Kent from Dave MC on December 25th, 2010. (He is really great!) I have this head which is identical in color and markings. It came from an early T1 Superman. I was wondering whether Mego used Clark Kent heads on Superman or a child in the 70's had a Clark Kent and decided to put Supermans outfit on him (which would be appropriate too)?

    Thank you for your help

    Hi Joe. I am no expert by any stretch but this is right from the Museum;

    Clark is of course, just a Mego Superman head with glasses added on. The head was also used as Mego Dinah-Mite's boyfriend Don.

    Here is the page I looked at;

    Clark Kent: WGSH Gallery: Mego Museum

    Hopefully this helps answer your question.

      Thank You!!

      I think the color and markings are different on the AE Clark Kent. I think anyway!! The Clark Kent that I purchased from Dave MC is different than my T1 Superman. Maybe some T1 Superman figures use the head identical to AE Clark Kent. Does anyone have the AE Clark Kent head on a T1 Superman?

        I think a lot of it comes down to the color of the head. now it'd be easy for someone to have a superman that ended up having a kent head ... kid plays swap the outfits with his figures, superman outift ends up on kent, kent on superman .... or kid has a kent, never plays with him due to being dude in a suit and not a cape ... then his superman flys hids the pavement loses a nose and has a blad spot from paint rubs ... kid dresses kent in superman outift ... all new looking superman now. same thing could happen to MIB figures too since the boxes werent' sealed

        back to the color, that first issue superman is pale and more pink next to the kent .. Don is the same color as that first issue superman ... besides a copyright Don is the same as superman. Kent has that coffee with cream color, I have a type one kent that is dark but it's more like a T2 dark so it's too dark to be kent. Kent can have copyright info but is more faint, or he oculd have no copyright info.

        that head you posted looks to be that right coffee with cream color. I only have an Alter Ego Bruce Wayne head. there are a couple other threads about this a few pages back. one member posted a great color chart about the heads

          Hopefully this will answer your question. Solid box Superman and Don are early sculpt, their jaws seem more pronounced. Note Kent's coffee tone compared to large S Supes for instance. T2 Supes is super sun tanned and not to be confused with Kent. Don also has no copyright markings on the back of neck.

            Thank you!!!

            I am probably going to trade the head on here because I already have a Clark kent and I am sure someone can use it.

            Very best regards,
            Joe
