    Peter Parker Head Reproduction

    Hi,

I am just getting into the Secret Identity figures. I am putting my Christmas money to some good use and bought Clark Kent and Bruce Wayne with some repro parts from Dave (one of my favorite sellers!!). I really did not know much about them because I have been avoiding them because of price. Anyway I bought a Shazam on Ebay over the summer with Spiderman and a Hulk. After reading about Shazam and Peter Parker I realized that my Shazam had blue eyes. I am going to use this head until I can afford the real thing (sometime in the far future). It looks like someone did a nice job making a repro - The paint on the eyes is a bit rough though! The back of the head is even unmarked (or sanded or something). Just wanted to share it because it is odd that someone sold it on a Shazam! Pretty nice for me to use as a repro It will be awesome to display on my Dr Mego Peter Parker!!

I am kind of excited because it is going to look really nice on my figure - What do you think??

      Thank you!

Maybe someone else besides Dr. Mego is making a reproduction? That is why it looks new. I think it is a modified Mego though!

I have to say - it looks really nice on my Dr. Mego Peter Parker!

I just took another look at this head. I think it is impossible that the date stamp was sanded or removed. The back of his head looks near perfect. There must have been a Shazam head without markings and someone exploited this to add the blue eyes!

The eyes certainly look painted . . . no answer on the neck

Thank you, someone may have ruined an interesting variation! It may be common to have no markings though!

Yes, someone did a nice job adding the point! Like most of us, I cannot afford the real thing - even if it becomes available. I am really happy to put this head to some good use!!

I have a Shazam head with no markings too.....the eyes are not blue though sadly. I had actually bought it as a hidden auction thinking I snagged PP head because the flash in the picture made the eyes look blue

The real thing is really rare!! That would have been some luck!

I have a Shazam head with no markings as well. It is definitly not common. I have not seen one since.

I have a shazam head with brown eyes but the markings on the back have been molded over (factory mold alterings) with a "patch".

you really need to take a nice large clear photo of that. I know I've seen the small one you took before. and I have never seen that kind of thing done on a mego ... seen it done lots of vintage star wars figures when the molds were used by other country and or factories such as Hong Kong then where hong kong would have been there's a raised bar that's either blank or had China on it.

as for shazam I have had both type one and type two shazam heads without any markings. more common to fine on type two heads I think but I have seen a couple on type one long plug necks that were for sure not peter parker heads

you know, i went and checked my displayed Shazam and his head is not marked either....seems that the non marked is head is more common than a marked head? I have another one somewhere I have to find and check
