Leather vest? (NOT Mego, well probably not -?)

Does anyone know who's vest this is? It is heavyily made and thick. The pockets are functional, (see the spyglass and the knife) and it's unmarked - though it looks and 'smells' of the 70s. It is (obviously) not made to fit an 8", but I dont have access to a 12" just yet.
Here it is being modeled by this ******bag- errrr- I mean 'Astronaut'.

Any ideas?
