Is Captain Zantor a reused sculpt ?

I never owned a Captain Zantor so I can't examine it closely, but looking at it in pictures on the net it really doesn't seem to look like Christopher Lee.

Just wondering if he's a reused sculpt from something else ?

who knows? The Cheron for example, is a reused/sculpted Alan Virdon. So the Kirk head would have been reworked. I have both,..and they are slightly similar...

It is a Capt Kirk, I was making a custom figure and had to repaint his head and there the SHAT was.

Is this common practice amongst toy companies? Is it really as easy as removing the hair off a kirk or putting hair onto the sculpt of an existing character to have your own sculpt that you are free to use?

How often is this done? Are there other examples out there of head sculpts that are recycled or "borrowed" in such a manner?

mego Kiss used reissued , and ideal reused stuff from several lines into star team
quite often,They may have several head scuplt on one character .
in either hardened clay or resin or Hard wax. they look at which would be the closest to LEE(again not have to pay Royaltees to Lee.
it all saves money and & weeks of work.

I'm absolutely 100% positive this is a retooled Kirk head. If you have one, compare. From the bottom of the nose down not kirk. From the bottom of the nose up, KIRK. The nose and eyes, upper cheeks and forehead are exactly the same as Kirks. The eyebrows, mouth, chin and lower jaw line are retooled on the sculpt, then cast. No brainer to me. You just have to physically have the two and side-by-side compare.

I think it looks more like the mask Michael Meyers wore in Halloween
