Has Wonder Girl's body ever shown up anywhere else?

Given how Mego was notorious for repurposing, I've always been surprised that Wonder Girl's body was not used for anything else. Or has it?

If not, why is it that it was never used for anything else, given the costs of tooling and production for just one character doesn't seem to be very cost efficient for a single character. Even the male Titans bodies became Lion Rock military figures. The 9" body ended up everywhere from Doctor Who, to Robin, to Robin to Maxx FX.

Why not the Wonder Girl body?

      Hmmmm....

I've never seen it used anywhere else either.... That may be 'cos it's not very good. Not quite an action figure, not quite a fashion doll.... If it was gonna get reused, I bet it'd be for a girls toy, and those were mostly 12". (Ironically enough, right until the mid 80's, when a bunch of smaller girls' lines were launched.... lines that would have probably done well with a Wonder Girl body....)

As much as I love the Titans.., I don't plan on ever buying a vintage Wonder Girl.

Don, (or anyone..) would you know of another 7" toy line figure that would fit in with the other figures..?

The other Titans? Not really. I made a custom 7" female body by chopping up a Wonder Girl, Delilah and a lot of custom work.

Sounds pretty cool. I'm fine with just the male Titans ~ I finally picked up an Aqualad, and will get a Robin made sometime once I'm back in the States.

At first, I thought you meant the one that Doc Mego sold in his shop. When I googled Brenda Breyer, I found an older doll. I see the resemblance, but I'm pretty sure it's not the same head. However, they do both have that vacant expression.

              Who is Delilah?

I've heard rumors that Wonder Girl has the same body as Dizzy Girl. She's very similar to the Dawn line of dolls, to the point that I have difficulty distinguishing them in auction photos. If anyone has one, I'd love to see comparison photos.

For people who are looking for a doll the same size as Wonder Girl to fit with the Titans, wouldn't a Skipper body work for a base? There is a line called Princess Tenko - that might be about the right size. There were also some Disney Princess dolls that were 6 or 7" tall, I think. Also, check into the Galoob Golden Girl dolls. I think they were slightly taller than She Ra, but you might want to check.

                >Who is Delilah?

Of Samson and Delilah fame. The two come as a set, and they're both Lionrock scale. Samson makes for a perfect Wolverine: he's only 7" tall, and really muscular. Delilah has fully jointed arms in Wondergirl scale, but uses Lionrock male body parts from the waist down. I used the arms.... more or less, for my 7" body. (They're scaled down Mego 8" arms.)

                >I've heard rumors that Wonder Girl has the same body as Dizzy Girl.

The Dizzy Girl is a LOT smaller. 4.5" or so. No knee or ankle joints either.

                >wouldn't a Skipper body work for a base?

I've heard that from other folks, but never ended up with one to compare. (The Dizzy Girl, as well as the next bunch; were obtained in random ebay lots.)

                >line called Princess Tenko - that might be about the right size. There were also some Disney Princess dolls that were 6 or 7" tall, I think.

Both are a wee bit smaller than Lionrock scale. Not enough to look freakish, but they'd seem like short teenagers. Neither are well articulated. There were a few collector's comic figures in the same scale, too.

                >check into the Galoob Golden Girl dolls. I think they were slightly taller than She Ra, but you might want to check.

They're a wee bit small too. Seems like there was a bit of a boom in 6" girls' figures in the late 80's/early 90's. That's why I think it's kind of a shame.... and when mentioned, odd.... that the Wonder Girl body never resurfaced.

I always thought the WG body came from Dizzy Girl but I've never seen one out in the wild. I should learn to google. She's 6.5" inches tall according to her packaging.

The Disney Princesses do come close I think. They are a bit skinny, but have just about as much articulation as WG, except they don't have joints at the feet.

I'm working with a couple of them now for customs. I just found some doll heads at Michaels that are Mego-ish to replace the disney-princess heads. We'll see how well they fit.

Where can one find these Disney Princess dolls? Are they vintage?
