    Action Jackson outfits?

First of all let me preface the question with a "i can't believe i don't have an Action Jackson yet" . My brother had one as a kid but i never did. That's gotta change . Anyway, starting to do my research and have a question about the numerous outfits that are available for him. The museum pages on AJ state there were 18 boxed outfits. I get that. But what about the carded ones? Were there only 10 of them? I guess i'm asking for a total number of outfits to complete a collection.... US release. Any holy grails or are they all pretty common and readily available? Thanks.

The carded carded outfits are tuff, AJ collector is putting 4 on ebay.
there is couple of box variations & outfits designs & equipment ,
EX: red wet suit, POTA's outfit pilot outfit, pink safari outfit.and different styles of surf & scuba outfit.
sailor suit has the most variations .

Besides the carded outfits 2 of the hardest things to get is a Navy outfit with a white M-16 rifle (although I do believe it came with some other outfit) and the rescue squad outfit with the plastic helmet.

Thanks for the replies so far. So at the most basic level, not counting variations, there are 28 outfits in all?

Here is a complete set of the carded outfits.

One thing with AJ especially when it comes to the boxed outfits you will notice there are so many what people like to call variants when actually from my understanding as the line was on its way out what ever was left was put together to complete boxed outfits, so you would find a military outfit with ice skate boots etc....

Besides the Fire Rescue outfit with the plastic helmet Clem (clemso) has one, Brian (palitoy) has a minty boxed soccer outfit that I have not seen on the market in a long time... ok ever!

Here is a link to some other AJ goodies! Enjoy!!!

Is the second set from the left in bottom row, tennis? It's not shown in the museum list.

I love the AJ line! If I wasn't building a WGSH collection I would collect AJ and the outfits. If I ever get to a point where I feel my WGSH collection is mostly complete, AJ and SMDM are the next two on the list! Great stuff and thanks for showing it.

Thanks for all the great info so far! Very helpful. Interesting to know about all the "variants" at the end of the line. Wonder why they picked pink for a safari outfit . Please continue the discussion, i'm learning a lot .

That pic of all the carded outfits is great AJ Collector. I followed the link to the Tennis outfit. It looks like they haven't added a hyperlink to the menu yet for that one. (EDIT: the link shows up through the accessory check, but not the main AJ page when accessing through the Gallery Map) The other 9 are there though. Without the link you supplied here... the casual visitor wouldn't even know it existed. Also, i can't access the link you supplied for more AJ goodies towards the bottom of your post, says i don't have permission or something. Thanks for all the info.

I love collecting AJ. I picked up the red scuba outfit at MegoMeet this year. I should have also gotten the pink safari outfit there as well.

Both the AJ and DM galleries are scheduled for an extreme makeover. It is on our "to do" list. It will probably coincide (I'm hoping anyway) with the release of the AJ and DM trading cards.

There for a while (when Action Jackson wasn't popular around here) I was actively collecting AJ stuff because I was getting super deals on it. I had boxes and boxes of packaged and loose parts. I wish I could put together every single AJ piece I've ever owned for a photo so that I could see just how much of the stuff has passed through my hands over the years!

It seems like Mego really did just throw odd things together in the boxed uniform sets at times. My favorite piece in my collection is the wooden AJ footlocker. I have a good number of the different uniforms on AJ figures on my shelf and I go back and forth between wanting to complete a set of them on the figures. Action Jackson is a fun, relatively inexpensive line to chase!
Nostalgia just ain’t what it used to be.
