12" skinny body question

Hiya folks,

I was just cleaning up a skinny Stanley and popped his arm off in the process. Looks like a little plastic ball and socket joint to me, but I cannot seem to get the thing to reattach.

Anybody have experience reconstructing the 12" skinny body. Is it designed to come off like that, or did something actually break in the armature?

was also wondering if anyone had suggestions for replacement hands. Other than finding a donor Sonny Bono doll.

I've never had one of the skinny arms pop off, but I thought they'd pop right back on. Is it possible that some of the plastic got into the socket and is preventing it from re-attaching properly?
