Ok, so Mego made some mistakes with the 8" version and then made some corrections with the 12" version. Everything looks fine (even the huge dome) except the hands that are flesh colored instead of red like the sleeve portion of his gloves. Was there ever an explanation for this?

I think by the time the 12 inch Cap was coming out, Mego had missed out on the Star Wars deal and was in the middle of trying to reinvent itself with different licenses in the 3 3/4 inch realm. I believe the heroes in that format were coming to an end for Mego, so their attention to basic details were overlooked. You have to remember too, they were coming up on hard times and were having to use overstock to cover some of their figure and packaging needs. Note the different 8 inch heroes that were placed on the wrong carding or blank carding. I think Cap was probably used on their overstock of beige 12 inch figures (hence the white hands).Comment
