    Repairing/replacing rubberband...please help

    Hey everyone,

I'm new to the site. As a child of the 70's most of my favorite childhood toys and fondest memories involve the classic Mego toys of that era.

I'm writing now because I need some help with a repair. I have a 12" Gene Simmons doll from the KISS line which has basically fallen apart. One of the inner rubberbands has dried out and broken where it attaches to the pin. As a result, the right arm and left leg have fallen off, and the other limbs appear to be in peril as well.

Is there a way the doll can be salvaged? Are there replacement rubberbands available, and if not, is there some type of suitable substitute? Also is there some type of online, step-by-step tutorial of how to make the repair? Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated.

Also, I have another KISS figure with all common broken knee joint. Any advice on how to fix that would also be appreciated. Thanks.

Here's the 8 inch repair from Tips & Tricks area of museum. Should be about the same.
