    Hiya Ray,

probably in the 500-600 range. I've seen loose and complete go for about that within the last year. Box is a nice bonus, but I don't think it will command too much extra.

No, I don't think it would sell for more loose or dressed on a doll. Just that it is not too far a reach to get a good repro box made nowadays for a fairly low cost. At least compared to the cost of the SpiderMan bits.

I think you would get about the same for it either way.

            SUPERman

Just my 2-cents, but I think rche is confused; he referred to SPIDER-man bits in one of his replies, not SUPERman, so I believe his quote must be for a Spidey set. The Spider-Man suit is much tougher to find, as you know, being released in the 2nd series of CA costumes, near the end of the line, and would definitely be in the $500+ ballpark.

Superman, on the other hand, is one of the more plentiful sets, having been produced for the entire life of the line. Still a really nice set, but easier to find. I would price it, if all-original/complete in nice shape, at $200-250. I've purchased a couple of nice complete sets, with figures, in that range in the last 6 months. If the cape on your outfit is NM, without the typical long split in the back (from where the manufactured split has been lengthened), it would possibly go for a bit more than that.

              Superman

One other comment: in my opinion, a complete/vintage Captain Action figure adds $50-75 to the cost of a loose set. Many collectors, myself included, will pay more for a set with a figure, so that you don't have to track one down. Of course, if you intend to display the set in a repro box rather than on a figure, the figure isn't needed !

Thanks warlock664,..youve been very helpful as well,..so since Superman is more common,..it demands for less right?,..then i guess i'll sell it in the box,..thanks again!

Wow. I mustve been having some wishful thinking midnight reading.

                  Spidey will fetch aroud 600
Supes is a lot more plentiful and would probably be more like 150-160 ish or so as a complete mint costume accessory set with Krypto. Again, the box probably wouldn't add that much to this. Tho I do agree that a CA himself in good shape can bring the price up 50-75.

sorry about that ray. I'll get my glasses checked today.

My estimate is for a set with a figure, so that's probably close, maybe a bit low depending on condition. I maintain that a true NM/M set, with un-split cape (except for the factory split) and all accessories (Phantom Zone Projector with unbroken handles, kryptonite, Superdog with cape, chains with all 4 restraints) would fetch a bit more, in the $200+ range. These sets in true NM/M shape, unplayed with, nearly always command a significant premium over nice used sets; it is fairly easy to locate nice used sets for $125-150, but tougher to find unused sets. If your set is NM, you should expect $200+, IMO, though I wouldn't expect the repro box to add much to that.

                      agreed.
As the original question was for a reboxed set, I was assuming a nice but used set with all accessories unmelted and unbroken.

My 1.5 cents... I have several CA items in my collection (Mego's first, then Captain Action!) A complete CA in nice shape w/ a repro box would probably sell with no problem for around $75. to $150, depending on condition.
Now if the box was an original, and again depending on condition, it could get you $200. to $400
                        Hope that helps...

                            More for Superboy obviously.
