    Female WGSH Neck Melt?

Hello everyone. I was searching for information on the neck melt on female WGSH figures and had a few questions that I was still unsure about. How common would you say this issue is on the 8 inch female figures? Also, in your experience has the melting eventually stopped or does it continue to worsen over time? Thanks in advance for any help.

I've never really tracked it. I've had some figures arrive with neck melt, but I usually trim it off, so there's really no way of knowing if it would continue. I would say it's fairly common - If I recall correctly, it's a reaction between the hard plastic of the neck plug and the soft vinyl of the head. It also happens on the 12" female figures, such as Wonder Woman, mainly where the softer arms connect to the body. Many of the the WW figures I've seen have had this.

        Hmmmm....

It's pretty common. I've trimmed a few down too, but it comes back. Slowly. If it's not too bad I wouldn't worry about it. Trim it if it's very pronounced or if the hair is getting stuck in it.

Thanks guys. I'm in the process of swapping one neck out. I'm just waiting for a Dinah-Mite neck to arrive now as I've heard from other members that they don't melt as frequently as the WGSH necks. When I removed the neck from the head, it was so soft at the attachment point that it actually tore right off leaving the top portion stuck inside the head. Luckily I was able to get it out with a pair of tweezers and the head itself was completely undamaged. I was really surprised at how soft the neck plastic was after all this time. When you trim the melt from your neck pieces, do you remove the heads first or just carefully trim around them? Just curious in case the new Dinah neck starts to melt as well.
