very cool, thanks for posting that. I have a a team up comic that shows him with the nose, that I have fun showing my friends to prove to them that mego didn't mess up and that he really did have a nose for a time in the comics.

I love the frame where he's going under water, even shows his eyes, looks just like the Mego figure.

Thanks for a great post, samurainoir! A fun way to kick off a week. You have to love Shellhead's logic for the design change on the helmet; you know, to "increase the fearsome aspects of my character to those who oppose me".

Sorry.. Never liked it.. It took away a sense of sternness about his glaring eyeslits, if that makes any sense.

The Famous Covers and Secret Wars renditions were much, MUCH better.

I'm not sure if this was something current IM writer Matt FRaction came up with or if it was just something he expanded upon, but I really dig the fact that the latest armour and Stark tech will not allow you to operate it if it detects that you are intoxicated. Makes a great deal of sense.

The nose always looked weird to me. I seem to remember a rumor back in the 90s that Iron Man Mego was originally a Dr. Doom sculpt - but I don't know about that one.

I always liked the costume with two peaks on the helmet - "Marvel Zombies" reminded me how much I thought that look ruled. the 80s one that Rhodes used was cool too - I hated when Stark came back and wore that red and silver thing.
