Superman Markings....

Hey all! I was just a wondering... Recently I picked up a T1 Superman in a trade and noticed there was no marking on the back of his neck. I thought, "Wow! Did I just score a Clark Kent head?" Upon further examination of my other Superman heads (yes I do have a handful in a box, leave me alone) I noticed most of them don't have the markings either. What gives? I thought they all were supposed to have the NPP and date stamped on 'em?

You may want to get out a magnifying glass and look again. I'm betting you'll find some faint markings and maybe be able to make out a few characters.
I believe the consensus on Kent is more the vinyl color than anything else (like lack of markings).

first off ... you have to check, the neck plug. if it's a long neck plug then maybe. if it's short ... it's just a very faint markings on a type 2

then with the long plug, it could be Don, Kent, or superman ... most likely superman, what color is the head?? is it dark like a type 2 short plug superman, if so then it's just a dark superman, is it lighter color maybe a kent. is it a first style more square jawed ... with no markings what so ever, then most likely a Don.

But it's very common to have a superman with almost no copyright markings that are visiable to the eye.

best thing to do is to post pictures of each one that you have questions about. and the let the others take a look, they've helped me out a bunch on this same issue.

Thanks for the info guys. In the end I hope to just have a fleet of Superman's and Clark Kent's so I'm not too concerned about the nature of the heads origin, I'm just a dork fanboy for Superman.
