    Blank back POTA card?

MEGO PLANET OF THE APES ASTRONAUT ACTION FIGURE MINT-OC - eBay (item 260590668673 end time May-09-10 19:30:39 PDT)

I took a shot at this thinking it could possibly be an undiscovered POTA card variation. A blank back like the star trek variation. It was a small shot because I was leaning more toward this being a regular card with the back layer of graphics pealed off. Plus it would stand to reason the figure would have to be on a t2 body. What do you guys think?

I didn't win it, but it looks like atleast two other people thought the same

I'm leaning towards the graphics being peeled off just because of the brownish hue. The trek cards like that all had white backers.

That figure is a T1. Take a look at the hands. On the one you can see the gap between the wrist and rivit joint. Plus the shape of the hands.
Can't tell if the back is smooth and has the matte finish or if its fuzzy like a peeling.
From owning a blank trek card they can have a dirty look.

I suppose you have to ask how easy it is to peel the litho off a card. If it's something that is very difficult to do then yes, maybe it is a new discovery. If the litho is known to come away with ease then you'd have to reserve judgement.

It doesn't look like the litho was peeled off to me. I would think that there would be a bit more curve to the card if the litho had been removed. Plus, the back looks like it's in pretty even shape to have had the litho removed, but it's tough to tell in a photo.

Its peeled look how thin the card is if the cards get wet they peel very easily.I have a trek card that got wet and the card board split leaving a thin card.

I have a carded Ape where the back litho is coming away from the card. I think it is pretty easy to peal off, especially if the card is damaged.

Looks like a peeled off litho to me. The card is so thin you can even see on the back where the bubble is attached to the card

Looks like it might even have faded so much it is gone.

No, I agree with you that it doesn't look like the litho was torn off, for all of the reasons you stated. But I do see a slight shadow on the back that looks like it could possibly be the remains of the graphic after SERIOUS fading. But the photo is so small and poor that I am just guessing and could be way off base. Either way, I agree with you that it does not look like the litho was torn off.

That is definitely peeled. You can tell by the thickness of the card. It's pretty flimsy.

Are the blank back Star Trek cards thinner than the standard cards?
