Been looking at Breyer horses on ebay and was wondering what scale/size works best with megos. Are megos truly 1/9 scale and would the 1/9 scale Breyer horse be accurately sized for a mego?
Toys "R" us has a Flock horse for 14.99 clearance .
they come with colts and a dog and are mego scale.and have saddles.stirrups would have to be extended there to short
I have several of these horse with saddles , brown , black , mixed and white.
1/9 should be 1/9 across the board when refering to scale.
1/9 mego assumes a 6ft tall individual.
The breyers seem big for megos but I don't think they are. The original mego horses are a little small, IMO. Breyers are often recommended for this question, and while they do lack articulation, they look much better than a lot of the toy horses out there, with super long manes, and silly big eyes.
"Steel-like jaws clacked away, each bite slashing flesh from my body - I used my knife and my hands, and when they were gone, my bloody stumps - and yet the turtles came."
It really does depend a lot on the horse itself... I used to have some of the Breyers and some were right on, a few of them were too tall and a couple of the others were shorter than what looked right (and they weren't colts, they were supposed to be full grown). I think most of them are considered in the 1/9 scale, but they do vary +/-. Most should work for what you need them for though...
One other thing you could maybe do is if you see any of them with the Brenda Breyer rider on them, use that as a guide... She's pretty close to Mego size, so if she looks okay on it, chances are your Mego would to....
