Just realized something interesting regarding the MTG set. And I would not have caught it if I didn't have the two current auctions for the set side by side on my screen. The color scheme for the main parts are different. That would really stink if your are a variation collector. It's hard enough to find one of these sets in great condition, much less both variations. Does anyone know which color scheme is harder to find, if either? I see the galleries have the green dragon with the blue steps

Heh, looks like the blue one is on the box.
I'd say the Green one is more common but I'm only basing that on my personal observations.Places to find PlaidStallions online: https://linktr.ee/Plaidstallions

I started a thread about this variation a few years back, and I think the consensus was that each color was about even as far as availability. I looked for the thread but found no trace, so it must've been the old board.
I sold my set at the end of 2005, and it was the green monster version:
Also notice how on the box, the blue/gray monster has yellowish teeth, but in production has green.Last edited by Sideshow Spock; Mar 25, '10, 1:09 PM.Comment

I had one a while ago and I think it had the green throne base. I don't really remember.
That's the problem with my old approach of "wheeling and dealing" to build my collection....I miss all the beautiful items I once had.
The good news though is sometimes I still think I have things that I don't....until I look and realize I sold them years ago.
Let that be a lesson to you kids out there. Don't look at your collection and you will assume you still have all of your cool stuff!"God has put definite limits on the heights of man's wisdom, but no limits to the depths of his stupidity"Comment
