How to remove tape from a Batman Emblem?

I have a Mego Batman with an original emblem. The emblem has Scotch tape over half of it. Is there a way to remove the tape without damaging the emblem? I was thinking about putting rubbing alcohol on the backside of the emblem to loosen the glue on the tape.

Goo-Gone should remove the adhesive... but if it's been on a while, the adhisive in the tape may have permenately altered the sticker. I have Buck rogers vehicle where I've Goo-Goned the sticker off, only to find the adhesive has permenatly bonded with the plastic of the toy.

Probably will have to write that one off,especially if tape has been on for awhile.
