Some LILI LEDY questions?

Sewn shut Type One suits are interesting. I have some with snap sets, as well. The Type Three Superman with the clear button is obviously a homemade fix.
I dig the snapless Robin Type Threes. I would like to do a custom one with a little taller neckline and make a butterfly collar suit. Maybe if I put one on a Lion Rock body it'll work! LOLComment

What year was the WGSH line of LILI LEDY first sold? 74? 75? Also how many years were they sold?Comment
-
The were first featured in the 1975 Lili Ledy Catalog:
Lili Ledy Catalog I 1975 I Mego I Mexico I GI Joe I Plaidstallions.com
and were also in the 1977 Lili Ledy Catalog:
Plaid Stallions : Rambling and Reflections on '70s pop culture: Lili Ledy
So, all I can assume is a run from 1975-1977. I'm not really sure of any other dates.Comment

Ok Thanks Heath i wasn't sure if they were sold prior to being to being featured on the 75 catalog or after the 77 catalog. So the in 75 they sold the "first wave",the seven featured on the cover? Then in 76? 77? they introduced the rest of the line? It sucks they didn't have pictures of original LEDYS in the 77 catalog! One answer always leads to another questionComment

Hey theres some back shots. Are those Aquamen all type 2 ? Do i see a hint of green in that middle Aquaman's belt ? Left side T3 Robins and right T1 and T2,right?Last edited by piecemaker; Jan 30, '10, 7:00 PM.Comment

Is that an "A" belt on that middle Aquaman ? This Aquaman came with this style belt. I 'am wondering if this is how he came originally or if the shorts/belt were changed at some point?Comment

I asked Luis this question specifically. He has a Type 2 Aquaman in the box. It has the regular crushed velour shorts (No velour Belt) and a rubber Ledy belt with an "A" sticker. We both assume this is correct for Type 2 Aquaman. He also said that he's seen plenty of Type 2 Aquaman like this one. Unfortunately, if they're ever swapped around, nobody wants to own up to it. There's really nothing to say this isn't also the correct version until a sealed boxed Type 2 Aquaman shows up with a velour belt. Yet, evidence tends to lean the other way.
Another thing that makes me think this is incorrect is the "A" sticker would have a hard time staying stuck to the velour belt.Comment
