    Vinyl Cape Thor Question

Guys, quick question on this variant. Is there much of a price difference between the regular Nylon-caped Thor and the Vinyl-caped variant? If so, what would a minty Nylon-caped run you versus the vinyl-caped?

And the reason I was asking was because I recently won a minty Thor on eBay. Thought the cape looked stiff in the pictures, but didn't want to ask too many questions to the seller. Well, he arrived today and there he was with the vinyl cape. I was very happy to say the least.

I think the last one sold for $215? It had a small hole in the cape. If yours is Mint, it could easily be worth $225-$250 to the right collector.

Wow!! I paid about $150 for the figure. So looks like I got a good deal. Thanks for the input.

If you paid $150 I can be pretty sure at least one other collector thought it was a vinyl cape also. You still won him though.

            Good snag.

Still trying to learn to post pics and my camera is not great, but here is a quick pic of the figure. Not sure why I can't get a bigger picture to post.

Looks like a very sweet deal. Seems to be in great shape.
It's not a doll it's an action figure.

Nice. Thanks for doing that. How do you change the picture size like that?

Here is the wrinkled back that gave me a clue something might be up.

When you see how sturdy these vinyl capes are, it makes me wish Mego had used this on all of their figures. The previous owner obviously took care of this piece, but no fraying and the color still looks fresh.

they don't fray because it isn't woven fabric. but it gets brittle and cracks at the seam.

so just keep my hands off of it then to prevent cracking?

They are pretty fragile where the threads are. I would just be very careful. Use a repro box to display him in.
