Recently, for $30, I picked up a Mego Tin Man at auction. I got that one because there was a less quality one for almost $80, and I figure I got it at a good price. However, when it arrived, it looked like there were parts missing. He is whole, and not loose, but he is only wearing what looks like tights. No legs, no shoes, none of that. Are there supposed to be shoes and things? It came with a Mummy and Frankenstein that need restringing, which the seller said I could sell for parts. But if there are parts, where can I get them...I would love to restore him. Or I would glady trade the Mummy and Frankenstein parts for what I need. Thanks for any help. You can email me if you want. The tin man should have all the parts listed in the galleries
Wizard of Oz Accessory Check: Mego Museum
For $30.00 you could probably get one mint in the box. -
Tinman should be wearing a complete set of metallic gray plastic "armor":
-A barrel-shaped part with collar & shoulder pads covering his torso (this is glued in place and is only removeable by cutting/breaking, making the figure difficult to repair). It features a clockwork heart sticker.
-Arm sheathes with rivet detailing, slit to allow elbow articulation
-Thigh sheathes with rivet detailing
-Boots with cuffs & rivet detailing
He also has metallic gray hands.
The Mego Museum Gallery features detailed information and pix of character lines and packaging variations to help you identify figures; sometimes dealers are misinformed or unscupulous.WANTED: Dick Grayson SI trousers; gray AJ Mustang horse; vintage RC Batman (Bruce Wayne) head; minty Wolfman tights; mint Black Knight sword; minty Launcelot boots; Lion Rock (pale) Dracula & Mummy heads; Lion Rock Franky squared boots; Wayne Foundation blue furniture; Flash Gordon/Ming (10") unbroken holsters; CHiPs gloved arms; POTA T2 tan body; CTVT/vintage Friar Tuck robes, BBP TZ Burgess Meredith glasses.Comment

Yeah, I see that here. I have been looking for a while. I collect toy robots, and I have no Tin Man figures...and the Mego is the most true to the character, so I have been shopping on Ebay. And, for the most part, I have not seen any good ones for under fifty dollars. So when I saw it for thirty with the Frankentstein and Mummy, I thought it was a bargain. But I figure if I can get what I need with trade of the Mummy and Frankenstein, it will be worth it. I took pictures of the two and will post them on the marketplace. I am not all that familiar with the two figures, but all arms, legs, heads and bodies are with them, so we'll see where that goes.Comment
