Black Hands...huggy Vs. Dobie

OK so my Starsky and Hutch Capt. DObie ahs the typical ape hands (brown "furry" hands) but Huggy Bear's are smoooooooooooooth and creamy chocolatey....is LCD the reason??? lol. Anyone else notice this?

Dobey and Huggy Bear were on African American bodies and both DM and CTVT have made repro's of this color. One point of interest is the hands on the Mego African American bodies in this line. Up until this point, Mego had used the same hairy handed bodies for other darker skinned characters that they used for the Planet of the Apes soldier and general figures. This was corrected for Huggy Bear and Captain Dobey. They have the standard Mego T2 hands in the appropriate color.

Every Dobie and Huggy Bear that I've owned (and I've had a couple carded) have had smooth hands. It sounds like your mint Dobie was either a body swap or got put on an Ape / Falcon body at the factory. He should have smooth hands.
