    Long-term Storage with Sea Travel

After shipping them by sea for around ten weeks, I plan to store my fifty-year-old Doctor Who Mego figures long-term. They will be wrapped in bubble wrap, placed in a plastic bin with silica gel packs, placed inside a larger box with packing material, sealed with packing tape, and stored in a climate-controlled facility for a year or more.

Is that the best way to do this? Do you have any advice?

    Thank you!

Why the SILICA packs??? What exactly do they do???

You pretty much have a good plan for storing your stuff, as someone who has been storing for over 20 years, i have had my share of stories in dealing with storing,

    good luck.

They control moisture. Much like when you open a bottle of pills, there's that small non-editable packet. That's Silica, I believe.

I had to do the same with my collection about 8 years ago. I also added dryer sheets to the bins.
