    Batman cape

I've seen rich blue ones, light blue ones and purple ones in mint condition.

My question: Did they issue purple ones or is it just a fade (even on mint freyless examples)?

The purple ones I've seen were fade, Len. They've mellowed to a perfect purple.

Here's a good example. It's still blue around the neck.

        Thanks,

I've got one that's a dark purple like that. Mint, but absolutely no sign of blue and an even tone on the entire cape. It came on a mint batman. I have often wondered if it was made that way because it is so evenly toned and rich in color.

I also wonder about the light gray suit and the pinkish suit, if they are fades or made that way as well.

I think the pink boxes are to blame!!!

I've had a couple fade to a grey-like colour over the years as well.

From that picture, while the whole cape is purple, you can see the blue thread holding the front together.

Yes, blue thread. No indication of blue around it, just the thread. And I must add absolutely NO uneven toning or light spots. Just a deep shade of purple.

i think the pinkish suit is pigment changing.

Could very well be. It was like that when I got the figure in 96 and hasn't changed a bit. Again, even toned and no hint of fading. I bought it from a very reputale dealer in a toyshop auction. This one has footies. I've seen the pink in stirrup versions too.

Likewise, I've also seen the suits in dark gray, gray and light gray with both stirrups and footies. Enough variations to make my head spin. But I've often wondered about the purple capes and the pink suits. And I don't mean the purple capes that look faded. I mean the ones that actually look mint with crisp edges. Oh well..I enjoy the detective work anyway.
