I know I'm late to the party on this one, but just in case you were still interested in finding out prices:

          Village Playset MIB: Around $50

Forbidden Zone Trap w/box: One recently sold for close to $100, but that may be high.

Catapult and Wagon w/box: You might be able to get near $50, but you're probably looking at closer to $25 or $30 these days. (which sucks because I have one that I'd like to sell, but not for $25!)

Fortress w/box(distressed): Around $100 to $125 depending on how bad the box is.

          Action Stallion MIB: No clue.

With that said, a lot ended recently on ebay with a boxed fortress, boxed catapult and wagon, and 2 boxed stallions for $64, so it's really tough to say.
Nostalgia just ain’t what it used to be.

It's definitely a buyer's market as far as Mego Apes are concerned.

I'd say ape prices in general have dropped 25-50% from what they were a few years ago. Foreign packaged Apes have dropped even more than 50%. Unused playsets in nice boxes still seem to fetch a good price. Very high grade cards also still do well although not as well as a few years back. There are reasons beyond the economy. I'd say the biggest 3 Ape collectors who used to always compete for the nice stuff have left the hobby and sold off their collections. The few that remain, seem to have everything they want.
To give you an idea of what prices were like 5-6 years ago versus today:
carded Palitoy Apes $700-900 versus $200-400 today
Boxed Apes $800-$1200 versus $200-500 today
Boxed Cipsas $400-500 versus $150-250 today
loose silver Ape $450 versus $80-150 today
              mib catapult/wagon set $80-100 versus $25-40 today
loose corny, zaius, zira $30-50 versus $10-20 today

Theres always exceptions when it comes to pricing, but its a great time to collect Apes.

where do you see Boxed Cipsa Apes selling for $150-250? I haven't seen one sell anywhere for years, much less for the prices you quoted. Where are you getting these values from?

I sold an extra boxed zaius and ursus I had on ebay last winter. The zaius was sealed in a water stained box and ended at a disappointing $120 and the Ursus was complete in a nice opened box and ended at $160. I currently own three boxed cipsas( bill, ursus, and zaius) they were all purchased on ebay for under $300 each. Like I said, there are always exceptions, but I would guess thats where the range is, unless two people who must have them start a bidding war.

I seems like Mike has been observing the ape market and is giving his educated opinion. There's never going to be an exact price. I've bought several ape items lately and would very much have to agree with his estimates and the fact that you never know what something is going to sell for.

that makes for depressing reading especially if you paid the high end prices

Wow, I totally missed those. I have been searching the words Mego and Cipsa 4 times a day for the past 3 years on ebay. I don't know how I missed those. You bought a boxed Bill for under $300? Holy Moly.

Tell me about it. You don't even want to know what I paid for a couple of boxed Cipsa's and a loose set a few months ago. Like I said earlier, I search the keywords Mego and Cipsa 3-5 times a day, every day, and have been doing so for the past 3 years and I have never seen a boxed Cipsa on ebay. Somehow I missed the ones Mike was talking about. I didn't have a value to go by when I made an offer for the figures I purchased, but I did find out later that I was bidding against a member here and they were willing to pay QUITE a bit more than the suggested values that were posted, even significantly more than what Mike is stating as the value from 5 years ago. Which proves his point that if 2 people want it bad enough, they will drive the prices up.
