Question About 8in. Mego Batman MIB

I have a question for anybody that knows how to determine the value of a Mego. I have a Mego 8 in. Type II Batman complete with all accessories MIB. As far as I know, there are no repros. The only accessory I question is the cape. It looks authentic, but it's a dark blue compared to the gloves and boots. I've never sold anything on ebay. Just been a buyer. I really don't want to part with this gem, but considering I really need some money, I am wondering how to determine this figure's worth before I decide to sell it.

Did Mego ever make the blue Bat capes in different shades? I seem to recall seeing some figures with greyish colored capes as well as accurate colors. But did they make any dark colors?

I would appreciate any info or suggestions anyone has.

    Cheers.

I can provide an image from my book, a small sampling of the different materials Mego used to produce 8" Mego Batman capes.

With the tremendous array of colors and textures Mego utilized, I don't imagine your dark cape is any more desirable or valuable than any another nylon cape. In fact, to my knowledge, no nylon cape is considered special within the Collector community; Vinyl capes, on the other hand, are extremely special and rare.

In my experience, the very dark blue nylon capes are representative of later-issued figures. Does your specimen have a ruddy face? That's another indicator of later-issued, Type 2 Batman figures.

      Hope this helps.

Batman is tough man since he was so mass produced. He is still one of my all time favorites. a super mint bats all original could fetch a few more dollars but maybe 50 bucks if he is all original. The prob is just the amount of them that are out there.

If you're questioning the autenticity of the cape. Just look on the inside. Repro capes
will have a "DM"stamp inside. Assuming the cape is indeed original the selling price will largely be determined by the condition of the box. If the box is good shape and all the accessories are original you could get anywhere from$100-$150 for it. Especially right now since the only other one listed is very overpriced.
