black and silver phaser with spock

Hi everyone,
Excellent resource centre thanks.
I recently aquired some star trek figures and the spock figure came with a black and silver phaser and communicator. I have looked around but cannot find any information on this variant if indeed it is one.
Any information would be most helpful

Is the communicator open? If so, they could be Playmates accessories or if they are Mego, someone painted them. Mego only came in blue and red colors.

the communicator is closed which prompted to scratch at the back a bit and indeed it seems to be painted, underneath the black is the familiar blue. i have not checked the phaser i will just assume at this point that it is also painted.

Hi and welcome.
You could probably take warm water and a tooth brush and scrub of most of the paint off you don't like it. Especially if they are original mego accessories.
I have a couple of repro phasers I painted for fun. They look much better, but the classic mego look is definately the blue and red you are familar with.
