I believe a fellow who used to be a member here (Abmac) coined the terms type 1 and type 2.
As for the female bodies. I can think of three distinct versions--the original multi-jointed body, the multi jointed body with solid--one piece arms, and the third body, which had very limited (neck, shoulders, hips and waist) mobility. There may be more variations out there, but this is all I can think of right now.
