What are things to look for to repair on a T2 with loose limbs? Would it only be that the elastic holding arm and leg together is stretched out? Any other things possible?

Thanks guys. Rich, the legs and arms are on the diagonal to each other. This is a Captain Marvel that I'm assembling for my daughter and going to sew a suit for. I replaced a leg broken at the thigh and after I re-attached the opposite arm, the elastic is just old and didn't snap back to it's same "tightness."
Don, do you make an elastic with a loop on each end to imitate a band or a full T1 type of re-string removing the metal hardware from the arms and legs?

Hiya Underdog,
Yep, many times the elastics won't go back to the original 'tightness' if you stretch them real far. I have done the t1 style restringing bit as well and do it with the standard stringing. I have also restrung EMCE bodies that were super tight so that my son could play with them and not worry about torsos splitting or arms falling off.
If you want your T2 legs to avoid the splayed stance that the T1 stringing can give them, bring the string up and over center post in the pelvis instead of straight across. This brings the string tension from above instead of the side and helps to keep the legs closer together.Comment

Doc Mego sells pretty good replacement bands ( different style but work well). using the bands from CTVT bodies work well too - I usually trim off the excess rubber to make it match the shape of the original. ( I find this reduces the overall tension on the band making the figure stand better and not leaning so hard)Last edited by spotter; May 4, '09, 6:50 PM.Looking for t1 LIZARDComment
