Vintage Mr. Scott tunic variant?

My vintage Scotty has a pinkish-red tunic, rather than the typical red polyester used on Uhura or Shazam! outfits.

I bought him mint this way in 1985, he has been stored well & looks great.

At first, I thought this might be the standard color--until I got Uhura a bit later & noticed the difference. I thought it might be fading or UV damage, but the pink-red color is perfectly even; I even checked the seams.

Has anyone else noticed this phenomenon?

My Scotty has the same color, I just think it was the material they decided to use for him and that was the color. Rememebr Uhura came after Scotty (and maybe Shazam too).

Good to know mine's not unique. Is your's a T1 or T2? (I have a T2.)
