Mego Horses. What color variations do they come in?

There are to 2 pota stallions on ebay right now, one is light brown and one appears dark brown almost black (sadly none will do international shipping ).
My question is are there any color variations in AJ, Dinah, POTA, American West etc?

I don't know if this helps. It's not the best pic, but it's a shot of ScottA's horse collection from MM08 and features one of each known color of horse.

All my POTA Stallions are the same brown. I have about 10 of them. That doesn't mean there never was variation in the color, I just haven't seen it.

AJ had a lighter brown horse, as well as a black horse. There is also a grey featured in a catalog for AJ, but only one has been found to date.

Dinah had the yellow horse, and the Western line had shadow, which is a third color brown.

So regarding just the brown, there are 3 colors out there in general.

      Hey,
There is also the grey variation, which there is only one version known to exist. I believe Stabilio has that one.

It's in the pic but you can barely see it. There are more pics in the MM08 photo gallery. And yes, he owns the grey horse, which I would kill for.

This is the only Dinah-Mite horse I have ever seen. I was very lucky to acquire it.

Seeing all the horses lined up together was a highlight for me at MM. I love the horses.

Planet of the Apes Action Stallion Mego 1967 Rare - eBay (item 260388528879 end time Apr-11-09 13:50:19 PDT)

This is the POTA Stallion that I am talking about. it looks a different brown, much darker, could be the scan i guess. its not AJ, because the feet are not white.

Here's a pic of the grey again. It's not a GREAT pic, but you can see it better.

I think that's the pic, although I can't say for sure. It just looks like the contrast is really sharp making the darks look much darker.

Here is a closer pic of the Horses:
                    • Grey Horse-Black Saddle
                    • Light Brown Horse-Yellow Saddle

                    • Yellow Horse-Black Saddle
                    • Brown Horse-Yellow Saddle

                    • Black Horse-White Saddle
                    • Dark Brown Horse-Brown Saddle

Looks like the Auction is for the Dark Brown Horse...the Horse's mane & face look like they have Black Highlights instead of White like the Black Horse in the pic above.

                    Hope this Helps

Wow those pics are awesome. That Grey horse is extra special, black saddle and battery holder as well. Was it a prototype like the Wondergirl sewn on sleeves or web hand Aquaman?

Another thing I noticed (far from an expert here, just an observation) is that any POTA horses I have seen are not "branded". My AJ horse (which matches the left horse in the middle pic above) has "AJ" molded into the hindquarter and I can see that in a few of the horses in the above pics as well.
I love these mego horses. Didn't realize there were so many variations.
