    Type 2 rubber band broke?

Well, I was fulling around with my loose Ironman and his blasted right leg rubber band broke. What can I do?
If you need a hole, I can dig it.

    Here's a step-by-step with pictures I made a few years ago.

Just use the steps you need for hooking up 1 elastic.

CustoMego on the museum site has this tutorial from T1 Kirk.

I used it to great success switching out a busted leg. If the elastic split or ripped, you would need to get a replacement. How bad is the damage? I have sometimes just cut a new hole to replace a split one on the end.
      It's all good!

I tried using a CTVT band to repair a Shazam I won on eBay. The tension is different than the original band, so he has a strange stance. Doesn't someone carry replacement bands? I have also used T1 elastic with good results.

the whole leg band part is cracked and thinned. i don't think i will be able to make another hole
i happened to have some nylon suture laying around so i attempted to suture the rubber band ends. it kinda works for now. it is definitely not going to last.
            thanks for the input.

You're best bet in this case is to just pick up a cheap naked John Boy or something off ebay or marketplace and just replace the body or steal the rubber bands.

I was going to say the same, there are plenty of fixer auctions on ebay.

You'd think someone would make exact replacement rubberbands for these, though?
With all the accessories, etc. available now?

Apparently, the Mego Rubber Dog Bone is tougher to reproduce than previously imagined.

Should be able to replace it with a rubber O-ring from a hardware shop or something.
