? Mego head and knee pins.

Can someone tell me how you put a Mego head back on a body. I took one off a body, (head didn't go with the in the first place), I got in the mail today and I can't figure on how to get it back on. Also, how does one remove the knee pins from Classic Mego Bodies with out breaking them?

As long as you have a type 2 body this should work fine. check the link.

For putting heads back on, I use a blunt tool or a butter knife and just push the ridge down into the body one side at a time.

Note on that knee removal technique- That's about the only way to do it, but it can be tricky. Remember these are old toys and the plastic can be a little brittle. I've had plenty of success using that method, but I've also broken a few legs along the way. More often than not the pin just breaks though, and Doc Mego sells reproduction replacements, so that's not too big a worry.

If you heat up the head, with really hot (close but not boiling water) it will soften and it should be easier to put on the body.
I use the opposite end of a paint brush to help squish it in.

I personally have had very little success removing knee pins.

I use a hair dryer to soften up the plug, and then it pops into the body pretty easily.

Knee pins on the other hand, I've never found a way to remove them without breaking them.

I think that's another reason I like Type 1s better than Type 2s. The head goes on much easier.

Do you think it is a good idea to heat it up with hot water or a hair dryer first?
