Hello fine members. I recently bought a type 1 superman off ebay. It is mint perfect right off the card but it has one problem. The cape is a bit wrinkled. And it is super crisp. I don't want to ruin the crispness of the cape. Anyone have any tips on how to correct this little flaw. Thanks

What is the cape made out of? I would place inbetween two sheets of heavy cotton (a pair of jeans, maybe) before I took an iron to it.Those who look outside dream. Those who look within awake.

It's thin nylon & will melt if ironed directly.
I use a medium-setting iron with steam and a double-ply handkerchief as a pressing cloth.WANTED: Dick Grayson SI trousers; gray AJ Mustang horse; vintage RC Batman (Bruce Wayne) head; minty Wolfman tights; mint Black Knight sword; minty Launcelot boots; Lion Rock (pale) Dracula & Mummy heads; Lion Rock Franky squared boots; Wayne Foundation blue furniture; Flash Gordon/Ming (10") unbroken holsters; CHiPs gloved arms; POTA T2 tan body; CTVT/vintage Friar Tuck robes, BBP TZ Burgess Meredith glasses.Comment

Hmmmm,
I would try dipping the wrinkled parts in very hot water (not boiling) and then immediately lay it down flat between paper-towels and then put a heavy weight on it (a few books) --- and let it dry.
Not sure if it will work, but it seems the safest method.
I think using an iron is trouble waiting to happen.Comment

Not a bad idea. I think SOME irons have a "cold press" setting that might work.

I once straightened up a Batman cape by holding it over the steam from a tea kettle (wear gloves). Dont let it get too hot obviously, but hold it in the steam for a few moments....wrinkles dropped right out. Not sure if this will work for major creases, but it worked okeedokee in this particular instance."Crayons taste like purple!"Comment
