    Fat body variations

Has anyone noticed the "type 2" fat torso (taller & slimmer, used on Grandpa Walton) on other characters?

I have a loose Boss Hogg & a bagged Wizard of Oz with this torso & type 2 limbs, rather than the more common type 1 fat torso, which is fatter & shorter.
WANTED: Dick Grayson SI trousers; gray AJ Mustang horse; vintage RC Batman (Bruce Wayne) head; minty Wolfman tights; mint Black Knight sword; minty Launcelot boots; Lion Rock (pale) Dracula & Mummy heads; Lion Rock Franky squared boots; Wayne Foundation blue furniture; Flash Gordon/Ming (10") unbroken holsters; CHiPs gloved arms; POTA T2 tan body; CTVT/vintage Friar Tuck robes, BBP TZ Burgess Meredith glasses.

The only tubby guy I have is a Type 2 Pengy so I have nothing to compare it to.

all the Wizard of Oz figures I have use this body. I actually prefer it to the cartoonish gut Penquin (and others)got stuck with...Although it works well for Friar Tuck.Blackbeard would have looked better with the OZ torso as well. Mxyzptlk...well, he should never have been stuck on the fat body in the first place.
Boss Hogg seems to have come with either torso.I only have ever seen one Grandpa Walton in captivity, and he had the Pengy belly body....but since his outfit wouldnt fasten, I'm betting it was a swap job.

        I used to have a tall-fat Penguin.

I got it from Ron and he said it's 100% legit -- meaning some Penguins did come on a fat-tall body.

BTW, the suit fits perfectly .... not tight at all.

The only figure I have that I know for sure came on the taller torso was Grandpa Walton. My Wiz has it, but I'm not certain that wasn't a body swap. The rest of my fat boys are on the shorter torso, but a lot of those guys are t1, and I don't think (someone check me on this) that the taller torso came on the t1 body.

I have type 1 Wiz's with the tall body...and type 2. The type 1 was my childhood Wiz, so I know he came that way from the factory. (Time wise, it would've been 75 or 76, so the type 2 body was in the works at the time. )Thats the odd thing about the taller bodies....Except for the really early stuff, it seems Mego produced both co-currently? I could see the "tall" torso being an improvement done when they switched to the type 2 body architecture as the legs fit up better....but that doesnt seem to be the case?

Cool. I've not owned a T1 tall fat body, so wasn't sure about those. Good to know.

Knowing Mego, they probably used whatever they had on hand at any given time, so there probably isn't really a "rule" what this. Probably certain characters almost always have one or the other, but I could easily see everything being released on either type over the course of various production runs.

Yes, I didn't realize it was so mix-n-match.

All of my Wizards have had the taller fat torso; they each had T2 limbs.
