I know it's cool to have the "original" packaging but what safeguards are in place (if any) to keep people from passing these off as originals? Are they clearly marked somewhere as repros?
Some of us aren't exactly savvy in all the minute details and tipoffs to tell an original apart from one of these.
A lot of room for dishonesty there.

You can easily tell they are repro because of the pixel. These cards are actually stiffer and thicker than an original card.

Which is fine if you have one to compare side by side.

Just remember, if any of these were real, they would be in the 1000+ dollar range. If you were planning to buy one of these, you would do some research before dropping that kind of money (or buy from a reliable source).

Your Thor and the custom card from the Toyroom looks really nice together.

did you glue the card onto the card? i have about 23 figures on cards and for the ones that dont have trhe clamshell i just put 3 pieces of tape on the bubble so i can remove the one piece and still play with the figureLOL

I got the "World's Greatest Toy" sticker from TheToyRoom today. Anthony, you need to make a bunch of these for Ben so he can give them out when he sells the figures. I can see a problem in the future where people (some of the not so honest sellers on Ebay) claim their figure was in the book. It may or may not add value to the figure, but I can see a problem possibly happening.

I glue all my shells on the card. I am not a Mego collector, I am a toy collector, so the small Mego collection I do have (and will have) is mint (or as close as can be). The $10 the cards and shells cost, saves on alot of dusting and keeps oil from fingers touching the outfits (plus they make for great display).

All of my repro boxes and cards are clearly marked on the backs.

Thor looks awesome carded by the way, Chris...I like the way that one turned out. And for those keeping track, you don't have to worry whether it's passed off as real or not because Thor was never Kresge/1st Issue carded.

Thor is a BIG boy!!! He barely fit in the bubble. I had to remove his hammer from his belt and place at his feet. His shoulders are quite wide as well, barely making it in there.

I've never had any problem identifying repro cards from the real thing, even in cases where I've never actually owned (or held up close) the original, such as the case for me with 1st issue cards. The really good and reputable card or box makers like Toyroom have identifying marks on their cards to prove that they're not originals. So my advice to anyone who is maybe new to this, and is concerned about being scammed by unscrupulous sellers, is to make sure you ask to get good pics or get a good overall look at what you're buying before making a move on it. It doesn't take long to school yourself on how to identify fakes, and if you're spending that kind of money it's a good idea anyhow
