Mego of the Day; Grandma Walton

Mego of the Day for Thursday is the first female Mego of the Day, so it seemed fitting to have the eldest character in the Mego-verse (next to Doctor Who) that matriarch of the mountain folk, Ma Walton! Did you have a Ma Walton as a kid? If so why? Is this the first time you've heard mention of it? Is it on your wantlist? Does it interest you?

Never liked the show. Period. I started watching a bit of Gunsmoke during it's last year, but that whole genre of shows, never liked it. Just early '70s TV in general ~ Not much style or fun.

I would like to track down a Mary Ellen to make a custom Leela like the other customizer did here.. Very Impressive Job!

Grandma would make an interesting base for a George Bush Sr. figure.. (Just putting that out there.)

Never had her or the rest of her family as a kid. I bought her 2-pact with Grandpa for $15 at an antique store in NH in the early 90's. One of the first non-hero pick-ups for my collection. Still have it.

Ok - based on the past two days, I call Darla for tomorrow.

I really enjoyed the episodes where she didn't talk.

I paid $10 for a loose Gramma in 1995 (from Mike King, remember him?) so I could create this fabulous opus:

I sold her later, for about $10. Despite many economic shifts, Grandma Walton retains her original value.

Never knew these even existed as a kid. Or possibly had no interest. I did watch the show with the family though.

                Hmmmm....

Ended up getting the whole family a few years back for about $25. They make good victims for the monsters.

I don't own any Waltons, and probably never will. That being said, they have nice likenesses to the actors. She does make a great Aunt May!

I remember watching the show as a kid, but I never had any fondness for it. It didn't have the spark that Little House on the Prairie did, and Little House was never that damn depressing, even with kids going blind and stuff.

She is probably better now for us as adults. I mean now we can see her as Aunt May, or whoever, but as a kid??? No way.

Timmy: "Hey guys check out my sweet new Fist Fighting Riddler."

Johnny: "Wow cool, I just got Thing and Human Torch, hey Nate, who did you get???"

Nate: "Ummm....my Mom got me a uh......Grandma Walton."

Johnny and Timmy, "Grandma Who, she sucks??? Get him!!! Smear the dork!!!" (nate).
"Steel-like jaws clacked away, each bite slashing flesh from my body - I used my knife and my hands, and when they were gone, my bloody stumps - and yet the turtles came."

Anyone know the reason behind the decision that they were released as both singles and 2-packs?

I still hate the show and the figures, although I do own them. They are great for custom fodder!

Of all of them, Grandma is the coolest because you can just buy her, stand her next to Peter Parker, call her Aunt May and you have an instant custom.
