Mego of the Day series is the sidekick to a sidekick, Ralph Malph from the Mego Happy Days line.Pop into the Mego forum and share with us on this piece. Did you have it as a kid? See it? Know of it? Is it in your collection now? On your want list? Do we need pictures of it's packaging in the Museum? Have you ever used it in a custom? Have you customized the character? Why wouldn't this make into your collection? Did you make funny caption pictures with it? Post pics, tell stories, say whatever, it's mego of the day.

I never had Happy Days when I was a kid but...

I had ordered a catalog, probably out of Toy Shop, way back when and soon discovered Mego made Happy Days figures when I saw them shown and listed in said catalog. I had just started collecting as an adult so I ordered them - a complete set of all 4 MOC for $45. I remember being pretty happy when they arrived. I think they were the first TV line I had acquired. The likenesses aren't bad.

Like most of the non-scifi TV show product lines... Didn't see the point. Granted it's good to diversify, but I always wondered whether the limited success of these offerings really justified the R&D resources spent, versus having a Green Lantern or more vehicles.

      Just curious..

There is no denyng the popularity of Happy Days, it was must-see-tv in the 70s. But it never would have occurred to me to buy the figures, then or now.

I guess I am only interested in the comic book/sci-fi/fantasy megos.

I had Fonzie, and his Jalopy (which was actually Ralph's on the series). The Fonzie figure got a lot of play, and I believe sold well for Mego. The other guys...not so much apparently. Ralph here is a pretty good, if somewhat cartoony likenes of Donny Most, but the Richie is just horrid. Mego's worst likenes, I think.

Only Fonzie was sold widely in Canada, so as a kid I was unaware of the other characters.

My parents drove us to Florida one Christmas and in the early morning, woke me up to take a pee at a truck stop. It had to be 5AM so I was really out of it. I remember seeing Richie, Ralph and Potsie on the wall. I remember thinking "what other toys do I not know about?"

For years, I thought I dreamt that.

I totally liked happy days as a kid. At least the earlier ones. Only HD mego I everhad is my original Fonzie. Would like to pick up his Motorcycle and the Jalopee so he can loan it out to Iron Man for the weekend.

Like others, I was initially only aware of the Fonz. Later I would see these in a catalog, I believe, and they were the cause of much anxiety. Despite the fact that Mego put out mini-catalogs with some of their stuff, the constant additions to the lines always made me wonder what I didn't know about. Was there a Flash out there that never made it to my local toy store? Did any of the other Avengers ever make it in to production?

Well, seeing this just reinforced the knowledge that there was no way I would ever know whether or not I had collected 'em all. In fact, it wasn't until I would discover the Museum that I finally determined I had indeed owned all the Wordl's Greatest Superheroes.

I would have gone after Fonzie and the Hot Rod But I was pursuing Women and Real Hot Rods by the time they came out!

I never had any HD figures as a kid. I was a HUGE Fonxie fan until I was around 5 or 6 though. I got my only HD figure, Fonzie in a box of 70s figures I bought from a friend when I was 25. Still have him and he's a great figure but I don't take him out much. I showed my boys the thumbs up deal and they laughed and laughed.

                              Now tomorrow's MOTD.... Oh yes.....
