    Who's Collection is Complete?

Now....complete means different things to different People...so when I say "complete"...I mean have You got ALL the Megos You set out to get?

I collect loose(but Carded if I can get them at a decent price)...so, I'd say I have every Mego I set out to get....except for a RC Batman DEAD MINT in Box....and a MINT Carded Superman...and then I'm done. Which is the reason I'm mostly into Customizing now....otherwise My Mego hobby would be finished.

I collect so many different Mego lines (most of the 8", 9" and 12" lines) that my collection won't be complete for a looooong time. But that's ok, I'd be sad if the hunt was finally finished, it's nice to still have stuff to look forward to finding and buying.

When I returned to Megos in Christmas '07 my plan was just to collect the POTA action figures (loose). Within a couple of months I completed the set with Soldier Ape variants. But while collecting them I slipped in a couple of old favorites like Shazam, Superman, and Aquaman. And that led me into collecting more of the DC WGSH. My DC WGSH is almost complete now but there are a couple of more that I want to track down.

I don't think I will ever complete my collection.

I am a classic case of Mego collecting. I started thinking I would only re-collect loose WGSH. But in between heroes, I grabbed a cheap soldier ape and then a Corneilus... new line started. Maybe I'll just pick up a boxed Batman... new packaged style started. Oh, I had the CAH Fortess of Solitude... new genre started.

BTW, I completed my loose WGSH collection a few years back. was already in too deep to feel like I had completed my Mego collection. And i love it

I probably surpassed the goals I set out back in the early 90's but things have changed a great deal since then, so I don't think I'll ever step back and say "Mission Accomplished"

Even if I had a mib or moc version of every line I collect, I would probably start collecting loose ones, but as it is, I collect loose ones will never own very many MIB or MOC. Hmmm...

I'm in the same boat as Brian. I surpassed my collecting goals. I started into new lines. I completed those and then I say I'm done only to think -Maybe I should get AJ - before you know it I'll be collecting the Waltons instead of cannibalizing them.

I completed my WGSH collection, custom carding minty fresh figures (the most affordable and packaging OCD-friendly route). Then I completed the major custom figures I'd always dreamed of, carding them also.

But now I keep thinking of fun and innovative new ways to customize favorite B-List and C-List stringers of the Mego era...and occasionally catch myself eyeing those Dida sets, thinking, "having another loose set to display with those could be fun." So yeah, things could still easily get completely out of control.
