Ever buy anything you weren't really looking for just to fill that Mego jones?

I do this on a semi-regular basis, usually because I desperately want to bring something home from the flea market. Once it was generic ninja figures that came on Mego-like bodies. I think they may have actually been LJN or Rookies - whoever made the ones with the swivel biceps and molded sandals. Another time, it was a knockoff body with a Davy Crockett head and white Action Jackson hooded jumpsuit and backpack. Today, it was a Rainfall Bible figure. I had never planned on picking these up, but after finding no Megos in the wild, I was looking through a box of dolls and found a guy wearing a purple robe with gold trim. I looked at my husband and said, "This is a Rainfall Bible figure. I could use him for customs." He just nodded and smiled, because he understands my obsessive personality. After paying $1 for him, I brought him home and checked Megolike.com. It turns out that it's Daniel. Who else does this? I know at least the customizers do...

I know exactly what you mean. Sometimes It's so addictive I need something to quiet the hunger, LOL. I usually buy DVDs as a back up if I don't find any MEGOs.

I have this weird thing against buying things at the flea market that I can get elsewhere. So unless the DVD, CD or videogame is out of print or really hard to get, I don't bother. I get impatient when my husband spends too much time looking at videogames. I'm standing there restlessly, thinking, "C'mon! Someone could be buying my Mego grail for 50 cents RIGHT NOW!!!"

I used to do this alot. I ventured into 12" and Pocket Heros. I liked them, but they didn't really "do it" for me. But I NEEDED to buy something Mego. Needed that package to land.

I've tamed that beast to some extent. Still get the Jones now and again, but I'm much better now.

Right now I'm starting to do this by putting together a Wizard of Oz collection. I've always appreciated how nice they are, but never felt a need to collect them before, like Dave says, they didn't really "do it" for me. But now, I'm thinking what the hell, they are cheap and they are Mego, and I like getting toys in the mail, so I'm now adding yet another Mego line to my collection.

Constantly, I've come home with loose Dukes of Hazzard and CHiPs for no good reason. My big one recently has been Canadian Micronauts packages, not for any completion just because I know I can come home with something from any local show.
