I still have Ahmed's site bookmarked... I bought all his loose Superhero's several years ago...good stuff -
Oh yeah, I remember seeing those pics of Ahmed's collection (I had to use dial up too, it took forever!). That was an awe-inspiring collection.
I'm flailing in too many directions, collecting a little bit of everything (not just Megos, but other 70's toys too), so I haven't been able to focus (my time, energy and most importantly money) and complete one line. Except the 12" Mego Black Hole figures, I have all of them (try not to be too jealous
) There are a few other lines where I am one or two figures away from completion. But yeah, my problem is that I love too many different toy lines (including tons of Mego lines) to ever get everything I want for my collection.

I don't know Huckabone well enough to suggest his. I remember when I first saw Tom L.'s collection and thinking OMG! Ahmed's former collection was unreal and a thing of beauty! I'm sure Dan's is world class too! Tough question to answer.Last edited by Marvelmania; Aug 3, '08, 7:46 PM.Leave a comment:

I agree, which is why I changed my inquiry to complete lines. I did have you in mind as a top contender, afa high end, quality collections.
I wasn't really thinking of this thread as a competition, I just know we have some long time collectors who probably have a pretty nice stash of figures, be it strictly DC, Marvel, Trek, or whatever.Leave a comment:

Mego is really too extensive and diverse to collect everything, even the 8" figures.
At one point, I had almost all of the 8" figures MIB or MOC, even Zorro and all five Space: 1999s MOC. Then I found my niche in this hobby, to collect as many different '2nd issue' or 'standard' carded WGSH as I could from all over the world in the best possible condition. To raise funds, I had to sell or trade off a lot of my other Megos.
The best loose collections I can think of, with the most representation from the different lines, belong to Rob Chatlin (which I think was broken up), Tom Lopac, Dave Mc, Ron Peritore, and Peter R.Leave a comment:

I have an interesting and fairly complete collection of belly fluff and some interesting walnuts from ebay.....I did hold a complete collection of shaved undead flying monkeys but recently had to start THAT collection again (see other threads).Leave a comment:

Love the new avatar Brian!!! I'm not much into these competition threads, but my plan is too outlive every mego collector and eventually take the title. It's a marathon baby!
(probably just jinxed myself - I'll be hit by a car later this month)Leave a comment:

at one point, years ago, I owned every "mass" released Star Trek figure/playset produced (meaning Remco, Mego, AHI, Galoob, Ertl, Playmates, etc)... but, along the way, had to pay bills and as I sold some off, I have never been able to replace some (like the Remco's from the 60's)
today, I can say, I have nothing complete (yet)Leave a comment:

Mike J has the most specific Mego Apes collection I have ever heard of.
Dave Waugh of innerspaceonline has a Micronauts collection that will make you drool, even if you don't like them.Leave a comment:
