I think my most expensive figure is a custom, and I spent 300.00 bucks on it. Worth every penny. I collect loose figs so usually they aren't as much, but also not as nice. I don't mind played with condition if they are complete and clean. I suppose when I get all the figures I want, I'll start replacing the repro parts, which will likely get pricey. I am also amazed at what some people are asking for some figures, especially given the condition. Like they don't even really want to sell it unless some total sucker comes along.

Oh, I probably paid $10,000 too much for a carded Ironman, but it was worth it.

If I really want something badly and the condition is top notch (i.e. I would never feel a need to upgrade), I don't mind overspending maybe 10-20% to make sure I get it.

I've probably paid 25% too much for a couple of things, many of them seem like bargains now. On my larger purchases, I never felt like I'm overspending at all because that's what I'm willing to pay...

Once I bought and overpaid for a carded WGSH mego figure--$2.19 at Woolworth when I could have paid $1.99 at Kmart

Probably a loose Zira missing one boot @ $50 was the most I spent on a Mego, but that was years before Evilbay. If you count the hours I spend to make one figure just the way I like it...well that's another story.

Yes. Around 300 dollars. But I look at it like this. It's really only worth what your willing to pay for it. So I don't feel bad at all, cause if I really want it. That makes it worth every penny to me.

I spent $160 for space 1999 Alien MINT ...about $70 over but the following week, I found a carded Alien for about 100 shipped, so it worked out. Then about a week after all of this, I got the whole vintage 5 dolls Space 1999 collection for $230, which was an incredible deal considering the Koening was worth $150 on a good day on ebay.

I've been lucky I haven't gone too far over ... but I wait and wait ... something I learned from vintage Star Wars collecting that comes in handy on a tight income ... unless it's rare it will turn up again, and sooner or later a deal is to be had Don't get me wrong I've paid fair prices for most of my megos ... but I just haven't gone too far over the basic going rate.

A couple of years ago, my Mom bought me a figure on a flea market, thinking it was "some sort of knight".
                          She spent $0.50.

                          What a disappointment. It wasn't a knight.

It was a Star Trek Mego Romulan.....
