Collecting Megos (again)

Hey everyone,

Thought I would drop by and say hi. I have been collecting Megos in some shape, form or fashion since I was 5. At one point I had all the WGSH (not including FF or alter egos), including Teen Titans, loose, type 2 and completely original, minus the emblems of course. However, times got hard and I had to sell them off. However, my recent deployment to Iraq got me set straight financially, so I have started again. The only problem I have had so far is the original part. It seems most of the Mego WGSHs on ebay have repro parts or are priced too high (IMHO), however, I am pushing forward and trying to get my collection back.

I hear ya' on the original part dilemma. Most of mine have some kind of repro as a placeholder until I can get the original, but it's a fun hobby none-the-less.

I'm assuming that "recent deployment to Iraq" means you are military. In that case, I say, "Thanks!!!". I had me one of them deployments about 16 years ago and all I got to say is, hostile-fire pay and tax-free income help a lot.

Welcome! As long as you don't want MOC, you can usually wind up with enough parts to put an original together without paying an arm and a leg (pun intended).

Hey Man, welcome. I have decided that repro parts are no problem. Heck that is really what got me back into Megos, was looking for repro parts to fix up my childhood batman. Little did I know. Of course original is better, but you gotta be patient or spend a bundle. Have fun, and I appreciate your Service.

Yeah, I'm in the Army. Iraq was fun, and I made some good money. It helped get me set so I could get my Mego collection started again. I know it will be expensive, but it's worth it.
