So, I am in a better mood than when I made my last post on these, LOL!
It's always fun for me to compare comparable Mego figures with what FTC has done, and FTC has done a lot of DC figures. I did compare 50th Batman and Superman with the FTC Repros, but I am refraining from doing so with the other repros, for now, partially because I do not have any of them on display. But the new characters that we never received from Mego in the 70s, that FTC gave us in the 2010s, seems like a fun comparison because they are each company's interpretations of what could have been.
First up are Hal Jordan Green Lanterns. From left to right: FTC GL (on a Type S body), Mego 50th GL, and FTC Super Friends GL.

I like the FTC GL, but when I opened the new Mego GL... no comparison for me. Mego blows the FTC GL away. Head sculpt, uniform fit and color, boot color matching, I even like the cuffed glove design, which I normally do not like, but the vinyl material makes it work. The was an easily replace in my display. I am a big fan of FTC's Super Friends GL. Different style and not a direct comparable, but a very nice figure for the Hal Jordan fan. I may try to swap him onto the FTC GL's Type S body, as that is the weakest part of the SF GL figure.
Next up is The Flash. From left to right: FTC The Flash (on a Type S body), Mego 50th, Mego Wally West, FTC Super Friends.

I posted my thoughts on the 50th Flash in the Mego Corp forum. The ill fitting suit still bugs me and the top of the lightning sticker doesn't lay flat. With those things resolved, it would be a better figure, but not as good as 50th GL. The head sculpt is the best part of this figure and I may get a second one (hopefully in person with a better fitting outfit) and do some customizing. I think there is still a lot to like about the direct comparable FTC Barry Allen Flash. This is from The Flash series, not Super Powers, which had a better fitting outfit at the neck, but the waist lightning was way too high. It's too high on the arms here too, but I can live with it. I feel like FTC is more Silver Age and Mego is more Bronze Age. I am not sure which one stays as the main Flash in my JLA display, which is a dilemma I love to have. The JL-inspired Wally West Flash is a fun figure. Besides the red bleed boot issue, I think it's a great figure and has it's own space as a different character. I am just a fan of the whole FTC Super Friends line, so I decided to show off the SF Flash too. Interesting too in how each company decided to tailor the suits.
I think the bigger part of all this is that right now, I am looking at four Mego style Flashes and three Mego style Hal Jordan Green Lanterns. Perfect or not, that's an incredible sight to see.
