    Hiss at the Palitoy Lizard!

A lovely new addition to the Mego Museum World's Greatest Superheroes Section today courtesy of Bill Frost, it's a beautiful example of a UK Palitoy Carded Lizard. One of the toughest to find in the series, no small accomplishment.

There is always something new to see at our Finished Customs Forum, each day somebody displays a new piece of Mego Art.

Poor Bill, with all those Palitoy cards burdening his collection. Thanks for sharing.

This carded version of Lizzy would be the second toughest to find behind Palitoy Captain America...which to this day I believe ole' Palitoy "Brain" himself has only witnessed. Of note, as the proud owner has stated, only two of these incredible cards have been known to exist with another in Japan mentioned to possibly be out there. This example had been previously photographed in John Bonavita's MEGO book along side a carded Palitoy Batman. We all should really give Bill a HUGE kudos for landing this figure since it is as far as any of us are aware as rare/scarce as the fabled 2nd issue Wonder Woman card.

              Aaron

PS. Anyone out there owning this, I am interested!!!

The US 2nd issue carded Lizard is not even in the same ballpark as the green Palitoy Lizard. This card variation has NEVER been on eBay and as far as we currently are aware is as scarce as Wonder Woman if not more scarce. Since 2004, there have been at least 4 US carded Lizards' on eBay. I for one still to this day feel that the Palitoy FF Lizard is rarer than the US card. I remember having a discussion with Mark Huckabone about that and he felt the US card was rarer than the FF Lizard, but that conversation has not changed my mind one bit. There have been a total of 2 FF Lizzy's on eBay the past 3-1/2 years and one was an open card and the other in really rough shape. Finally, I have an idea of the $$ figure since I too was interested in buying this piece before Bill beat me to it, but you can let your imagination run wild as it is strictly Bill's business regarding what he paid. The high end figures such as this one are hard to put a dollar figure on since it is extremely rare/one of a kind.

I agree, The palitoy carded Lizard is a lot rarer then the US carded Lizard, And i bet your right about the carded FF Lizard being rarer then the US carded Lizard heck just try finding a loose FF Lizard let alone a carded one

I don't think the green carded Lizard, Cap, Thing or Torch had a high run and were only released for one year, like Zorro. I don't even remember seeing the Thing or Torch in any toy stores in the 70s. I do remember having the green carded Cap as a kid (and Zorro) and my brother owning the Lizard though. I only need the green carded Cap now to complete the set of Superheroes. Having only one possibly seen on Ebay and no mention of another, that's going to be an uphill struggle!

I've often thought Lizard and Cap were likely cut from the regular assortment once the fist fighters were released.
