Very informative. I've been looking for that purple Batman for 30 years (not to mention the Robin that goes with it).

Fascinating, I really enjoyed this. "Five or less" freaks me out a bit.

Some personal observations, I hope they are useful:

*The "purple box" is closer to 8" Green Goblin red-violet than Aquaman purple.
*The non-mag "mean" Batman head is molded and painted similarly to other later-issue 8" Batman heads: Darker blue, a bit waxy/sticky, and with a pale, sallow skin color.
      * The back art on the magnetic and later boxes is a cropped/modified version of the Adams Wayne Foundation art.

I have a question about the Grand 12" Batman: Is the cape, which I see has switched from vinyl to nylon, tacked in place like on the later bulky bodysuit?

Also, are the Parkdale/Grand emblems paper or fabric?

        Thanks!

It is mostly vintage Mego videos fault, that I own and love 12" Megos. Before these series of videos were posted here on the Museum, I was strictly an 8" collector. Thank you for expanding my horizons Brian. Love that purple box Batman. Great video as always.
I post in thy general direction!

a couple of other observations on the non mag batman
the suit is unique to this figure as it the only batsuit with closed feet and no sewn belt to be cut from the muscle suit pattern ,

and that the emblem is slightly darker and “redder” than the magnetic version which is lighter and more of a lemon yellow background color

Fantastic video! I love all your videos, but these thorough histories are just indispensable.

I have the Parkdale Batman in the box from that Diamond overstock you mentioned, and a nice loose Magnetic Batman. I love both. The Parkdale Batman reminds me a bit of Drew Struzan's interpretation from that wonderful painted poster series:

I kind of think the later Batman looks a bit more like Affleck that Bale now, but I can see both.

I was gifted the later non-Magnetic Robin by a very generous Jason Scheirmeyer for my Castaway work, but I doubt I will ever own his accompanying Batman!

Thank you libbey, I did not realize the emblem variant.
