I certainly am glimpy! Nice background story to go with the figure.
Earlier on when I mentioned that he was quite common, what I meant was that out of all the WGSH figures that were released in SA, Jet was the easiest at the time to get. For me at the time, as a kid, the hardest figures to get were Spiderman and Captain America. It took me ages to land a Spiderman. The sad thing is that only a handful of JJ's have made it to 2019, and if it was not for the sellers strict Grandma, this one too, would have been lost. I owe it to her, to keep this Jet in another display cabinet.
Poor Jet spends nearly 50 years in a display cabinet, gets released, then flies 5609 miles (9027 km) around 11 hours Joburg to London, only to be encassed in a box, and back into a display cabinet!!! He must feel like he has been sentenced to three lifetime sentences, with no porole!! His only saving grace, is that he has the company of the rest of the Mego WGSH's!

Great story, I had similiar but not quite as successful endeavours seeking Jet around 2006. I put want ads in South African publications and actually found one via a record dealer. He was cleaning out a house of it's records and noticed a Jet doll in cabinet, he bought it and contacted me via the ad.
I was content and gave up my search, four years later I got an email from a woman in the UK who grew up in SA, she saw my ad and had a nude JJ and asked me to make an offer. I brokered the deal for a friend.
I still think it's funny how she contacted me so many years later, you may be surprised to find a third one.Leave a comment:

Arrived yesterday, from SA!!!!
Here he is now in a wonderful reproduction box, with an original Mego Museum JJ card, with his trusty Jupiter, the black panther, who always accompanied Jet on his adventures!!!!

Just reread this. Still stunned by the story. It makes one think that more JJ’s will continue to surface if they truly were that common.
